Simply stunning. “MAXED OUT MEM. ROGER LINN UPGRADE 3.10E SOFTWARE WITH SCSI THIS MACHINE HAS OVER $500.00 IN PARTS ALONE! ALL PARTS AND LABOR PERFORMED AT (VST) AKAI SERVICE CENTER IN PASADENA CA, THIS MACHINE HAS A CUSTOM PAINTED OUTER CASE AND A CHROME FACE PLATE, A BIT OF EYE CANDY, WITH FEW BLEMISHES, FADING BACK LIGHT, ALL BUTTONS AND KNOBS ARE IN WORKING ORDER” Link
“The machine is in ‘reasonable’ condition and seems to be working very well.
It’s sold ‘as-is’ and without reserve, your chance to own a little piece of music tech history!” Link
“All believed to be working but no way of checking!” Link
Great collection of sample CDs. For the S1000, but I imagine most later samplers should be able to read these as well. Seller has several different lots available.
Not much info in the listing, however the S1100 has several expansion cards, so I would imagine there would be extra RAM in there as well. Comes with a S1100-EX which is a sample playback unit for the S1100 — you would stack these to for polyphony. It’s shame it’s on the other side of the pond, otherwise I’d snag this in a heartbeat! Lots of pics of this piece of gear following the link. Listed on eBay France. Link
“You are bidding on an Akai Professional S1100 Midi Stereo Digital Sampler. There is also a SCSI port on the back and a Syquest 135 MB drive is also included. There is also a SMPTE I/O card and a digital out port (XLR AES/EBU). The Akai powers up and I can play a sample that is stored in memory, but thats all I know how to do on the unit. The display indicates it has 3 MWords of memory and version 4.3 operating system. The backlight for the display does not work, but replacement lights are available on the web.” Link
“Lightly used and displayed in a smoke free studio. Used very little back when and stored in warm dry environment. Almost mint condition with only a few light scratches on case. Unit tests out perfect. Comes with power cable.” Link
“This listing is for an Akai MPC-2000 that includes the external SCSI zip drive, cd drive, and hard drive. What makes this listing different than others? One really important thing is that the screen is nice and bright with NO LINES. Another thing that is obvious is the included zip drive. Very convenient to transfer sounds from your computer to the MPC and vice versa. Also included are 6 zip discs so you can get started sampling and saving your projects. The machine works great, it has very nice pads and everything is great with it. A little scratches here and there but nothing deep or very noticeable. One thing I can tell you is that I’m not sure how to work the hard drive but I know it turns on. Also, the play start button is a little loose but it performs just as good. I am also including two power cables (one for MPC and the other for one of the SCSI devices that use the same one), a travel case, and one SCSI cable. It comes with OS 1.72.” Link
“You are bidding on a Akai MPC 2000XL with 8 Out Puts, SMPTE, SCSI, SAMPLEVERB 4 CHANNEL EFX AND 2MB RAM.. It is in Excellent Condition, VERY CLEAN and has no visible signs of ware. Unit comes with power cable, can’t find the manual but you can get it from Akai’s website. I even have the sound library CD and ZIP disk that came with it. I’m the one and only owner of this classic machine.” Link
“You are bidding on a used Akai MPC 2000. It is in good overall condition. It has the optional 8 outs, the SMPTE I/O option & the memory has been fully expanded to 32mb. It is in good working condition. The only known issues are screen. It needs to be replaced. It still lights up, but is not readable. I took the screen out of my other MPC which sold last week & installed it into this one & it worked fine. They are available for about $150.00. Also the knobs for main volume & recording gain on the top left have been replaced with aftermarket knobs. Also the note variation slider is missing it’s knob.” Link

Product Type :
Unfortunately, I need to let this go…my loss is your gain.
This is a gentley used AKAI MPC 3000 / MPC3000 designed by the Great Mr. Roger Linn.
Only flaw (other than normal wear and tear to the exterior from use) is that it needs a new backlight. The LCD is FINE! No lines, missing pixels, etc. (check out the picture), however the backlight needs replacing. (New backlights are only $33 from http://backlights.telesisgear.com/) It’s completely operational without the backlight; so much so that I haven’t seen the point in replacing it because it doesn’t effect me using the machine, but due to this small flaw, I’m offering the machine with a Buy-It-Now for $775 + shipping.

“If you’re serious about making beats, this is the one to have…the classic MPC-
The 3000 is the last MPC to have Roger Linn’s name on it,
and the last MPC to have that authentic MPC feel.
The new models (500, 1000, 2000, 2000XL, 2500, 4000, 5000) are toys
with a bunch of bells and whistles.
This is the real deal.
It’s in great condition.
Also includes manual, power cable, and MPC padded gig bag (see pic).” Link

Opening bid of $95, so you may be able to get this one cheap if you know how to fix gear. Has audio output problem. “
NEVER EVER gave me one problem except for about one month ago.
Everything in the machine STILL works fine EXCEPT . . . you can barely hear any audio no matter how high u turn the levels up.” Link
Seller is located in Germany. Fully stocked S-100 with 32MB Ram, SCSI and Digital I/O cards. Quite reasonable Buy It Now price. Link
“Regarding this Akai S3000XL:
* It has 32MB RAM fitted – I’m assuming this as on startup it reports 16M words fitted (1M word = 2 M Bytes)
* It DOES NOT have any flash fitted
* It DOES NOT have any effects cards fitted
I am supplying it with the following:
* Nova Forge 4U carpeted rack case
* 2 x SCSI CD burners in external cases – NOTE! The power supply on one of these does NOT work, but the drive is fine
* 2GB SCSI hard drive – I’m not sure, but there might be provision for this inside the Akai – don’t quote me on that though!
* Iomega SCSI Zip drive
* PCMCIA SCSI card
* PCI SCSI card
* 7 x SCSI cables of varying types – this is all you’ll need
* SCSI adapter and SCSI terminator
* A bunch of Zip disks loaded with various percussive and synth samples
I guess what I’d be doing would be mounting a SCSI burner, SCSI Zip drive, and SCSI hard drive (in an external enclosure) in the free 2U space above the sampler for easy access to all and a fully loaded portable sampling solution; that’s merely a suggestion though so go ahead and do whatever you like!” Link
Good deal for locals in Manchester, UK, this seller has a S3000i for pick up only. Is throwing in some Akai sample disk library too which makes this very interesting. Link
“Excellent condition. Studio use only. Comes with V2.0 operatings syster, SCSI board, 32M RAM upgrade, owners manual.” Link
“This thing has 16 voices and two filters per program. One filter controls volume and the other can be set to control pitch, frequency cut-off, LFO or a combination of all three. 2 megs of RAM is ok.. The SCSI port is nice, if I could figure out how that works.” Link
