I’ve tested every function on this machine and vouch that every button, knob, pad, input, and output works. Having said that, there are few caveats. The first ‘issue’ is that the back light is no longer functioning. The LCD screen works great, contrast, display, etc, but the the back light is out. What does this mean? It means that working in the dark is not an option without an external source of light such as a lamp. While this is very common amongst MPC3000′s – many are 15 years or older now – I will include a brand new back light with purchase! I intended to install it myself but don’t have the time at the moment. It’s a very simple procedure that requires no soldering – note: I would recommend properly desoldering the old back light and resoldering in the new one for maximum efficiency, however this particular back light can be installed without the use of solder. In addition to the installation instructions that come with the back light, I will provide a video tutorial for the winning bidder / buyer with step-by-step instructions from start to finish. Aside from that, the only other ‘issues’ are cosmetic. The first cosmetic issue can be seen if you look at the photo displaying the rear of the machine. If you look closely at the SCSI connector you’ll notice one of the nuts that screws on the right post is missing. I purchased the machine this way, and have never troubled myself to do anything about it. If you’re super anal, you can locate a small replacement nut for that post at most hardware stores – such as Lowes or Home Depot – as well as any quality specialty electronic store. Aside from that minor imperfection is a very tiny scratch located near the bottom right corner pad. It’s so small I couldn’t get it to come up in the photos I took, but being that we’re talking about an item over $1,000, I figured I’d try to disclose any and all imperfections to the best of my ability. Other than that, this machine is fantastic shape. In fact, the pads are barely broken in. As you can see by the photos attached, there isn’t even finger oil residue on the pads!” Link

“This listing is for my Akai S2000 sampler. It had had an internal SCSI header and ribbon cable added to the PCB and power supply leads. This makes the sampler extremely useful as the internal floppy drive can be directly replaced with a zip or Jaz drive. The operating system can be transferred to the drive as well as all your samples. No need to link to a PC using Mesa etc with very long waiting times for samples to load. ( I have also listed a 2GB internal Iomega Jaz drive which will fit this sampler)

The Sampler is in very good condition with a few light scratches on the top of the casing, fully working.

Comes with O/S2 floppy disk and printed manual.

Fully expanded memory to 32MB

“Hi. Here I have my mpc 500. I am selling due to a move towards software production. It is in excellent working order only things to note are a few bits of cosmetic wear as shown on the photos(paint has come off in the middle of the large dial and a very small scratch on the bottom right hand corner of the screen all of which is very minor and in no way effects the usability of the machine) I am including a USB cable, 2gb memory card, mains adaptor and a pair of RCA cables. Please be aware that this has not been upgraded to the 128 exm internal memory. ” Link

“For sale I have a great piece of sampling kit. This mpc has served me well and has a very comfortable work flow. A few things to note….the machine has the 32mb memory upgrade, it has the compact flash card upgrade however I can only get it to work with an akai 128 mb card which I have included, not to sure if I’m doing something wrong or if it’s a case of formatting the cards in a particular way and there is no 8 outs upgrade. As I said this machine is in great condition and works well. Included is a power lead and a pair of RCA cables aswell as a 128mb cf card. ” Link
