“This Akai x7000 has lived it’s live in a smoke free home studio. It’s generally in good condition (see pics) but quickdrive disk drive is no longer working. I *think* it’s the drive belt, which should be serviceable but I don’t have the time to investigate. Suffice to say you should budget for a replacement drive just in case. Other than that everything is functional and a-ok. Comes with a selection of Roland Sound Library disks, these are getting pretty rare so should have some collectors value. “Up for auction is an almost new AKAI MPC 500 Music Production Center. I purchased the Item BRAND NEW About 1 year ago. I originally purchased the MPC 500 because it is not only good for studio work but it’s also portable and runs on both AC Adapter and 6 AA Batteries.

In Addition, I also installed the 128 MB Memory Expansion for the unit. It works perfectly and all Samples/Patterns are in their original state.

I really don’t want to sell this item but I need to make room in my small home studio which is the only placed it has ever been used. (I never took it on the road or out of the studio).

The unit ships in the ORIGINAL Box and includes Both Manuals and the AC Adapter. The 128 MB Memory Expansion is (as I said previously) still installed.

“This is a used akia mpc 2500. The MPC is maxed out with 128mb and 80 gb hard drive. The hard drive has thousands of professional sounds i personally bought and sampled. This sounds included drums, claps, snares, hi-hats etc.The jog wheel on this MPC does not work but can be easily replaced. Sites such as mpcstuff.com has replacements for under 30.00. or you can find the rotary encoder on eBay for around 20 dollars. The cursor and jog wheel provided the same function so, the jog wheel is not necessary to beat beats on the MPC. If you clicked on this ad you know what this is. Known for its lo-fi gritty sampling engine and rock-solid sequencing, this unit is fully functional and built like a tank.

All knobs, buttons and pads work perfectly, as does the slider and the floppy drive. This particular unit has been upgraded with the now unavailable Roger Linn 3.10 OS upgrade on ROM chips, which essentially turns this into a 12 bit MPC3000, save for a few hardware related things like stereo sampling inputs.

I’ve personally owned this beast for 12 years, have banged out countless beats on it, and its never given me ONE problem in all that time…NONE whatsoever.

Unit is in perfect working condition and in very good to great cosmetic condition. Nothing is broken, but there are some spots where the paint has rubbed off, which is normal for a 20+ year old machine. LCD screen works perfect but the backlight has long since faded. Not a huge deal unless you’re making beats in total darkness. If it bothers you, you can pick up a replacement backlight on ebay for like $35 (its a simple job to replace, I’ve done it for one of my other samplers).” Link
