“I’m sure if you’ve come this far and are reading this then the Akai needs no introduction.

The first thing I need anybody interested in buying this unit is that it is not working 100%. There is an intermittent cut out of the inputs or outputs, I’m not sure which. So sometimes it works perfectly and others it doesn’t work at all. I’m sure if you know what your doing with electronics then this is something that can be fixed, more than likely a bad connection somewhere.

If your still interested i can say that it comes with the original box and instructions. It has never been gigged and lived it’s whole life in a one of the racks of our old studio. ” Link

It’s cosmetically in practically new condition. You can make any cheap keyboard sound MUCH better, or augment an already great synth. “So I’m finally selling my Akai MPC 2000 XL….. I’m in grad school and I haven’t used it for almost 3 years, but yet I’ve still had a hard time letting this legendary piece of audio equipment go.
I plugged it in today and it makes a humming noise, so it probably needs to be serviced. But other than that it starts up fine….so thus as is..

“This is the ideal thing if you are looking to bring some warmness back to your music, just running things through it and adding a little distortion works a treat. It is a powerful machine indeed. Sadly this one is slightly scuffed in places and has a little bit of ‘gum; from where I have had masking tape on it for a few years. This was just for me to write things on. There area a few permanent pen marks in places but these are small and do not interfere with the functioning of the item. It is quite heavy and does not come with original box. Der Akai MFC 42 verfügt sowohl über einen Stereokanal als auch einen völlig unabhängigen Monokanal. Beide Kanäle arbeiten als Band Pass, High Pass, Low Pass oder Notch Filter mit 12dB oder 24dB Flankensteilheit. Der Monokanal kann zusätzlich auch als 8-pole Filter mit 48(!) dB Flankensteilheit genutzt werden. Praktisch für den Live Einsatz: Die Filtertypen lassen sich bequem per Kippschalter und ohne Umwege direkt anwählen. Per LINK oder INVERT Schalter lassen sich die beiden Kanäle miteinander verknüpfen. Im LINK Modus steuern die Bedienelemente des Monokanals gleichzeitig auch die des Stereokanals, während im INVERT Modus der Stereokanal gegenläufig zum Monokanal arbeitet. Die Filterkanäle können natürlich per MIDI Controller in allen wichtigen Parametern gesteuert werden, aber auch per LFO (synchronisierbar), ADSR Generator oder Triggertaster.
