“Hi there here for sale is a custom coloured Akai MPC1000, very rare as there’s not another like it!

It comes fully loaded with original samples from the Roland drum machines 808 909 707 606 727 etc. and my own sampled real-life drum kit included on the 2GB card. I have just bought £80 worth of samples (brand new from a big sample company) and can include those too (they are mainly techy / glitchy sounds)

The MPC has 128MB RAM, and came with JJOS 4.82 installed. JJOS is a pleasure to use, the grid editor is my favourite bit, it is used to re-edit your beats as in a computer sequencer. Also included is a nice card reader/USB hub for faster sample loading. It is space invaders themed and so it has the ‘I invade’ logo on the front and a nice image on the memory card. There is a small scuff on the bottom left fader and a couple of scratches beneath the record button, but they aren’t really noticeable. I would love to keep this sampler if I had room for it, I have created some great tracks on it and I’m sure the new owner will too. “This Akai MPC 1000 is fully loaded. It includes a Toshiba 100 GB hard drive, 128 MB of RAM, JJ OS2 and OS1, 32MB compact flash card, USB cable, two 1/4 stereo cables, power cable and manual for MPC and operating system in three ring binders for easy access. The unit is in great condition, but I do want to point out that pad 1 is not as sensitive as the rest of the pads. It does still work, you just need to press it a little harder. Other than that it is a very nice MPC and I am including everything needed to start right out of the box. ” Link

This system is “physically” not “technically” broken.

Boots up perfectly with original (latest version) OS and functions properly. It is not set to load sound banks automatically but original MPC sound kits are intact (just have to be loaded manually from internal mem). Has the 128mb RAM upgrade as well.

Due to being traveled with for several years it has succumbed to wear and tear:

-Several of the pads have become mostly unresponsive (common problem with 1k)
-One side of audio input is intermittent but still works
-The “MAIN” button has been broken into the front panel (another common problem. this is the MAIN problem, pun intended. the buttons are only held on the board by a small piece of plastic. this piece of plastic has been broken by use but the button IS still there)
-Both Q-Link slider tips are missing
-Left arrow button is showing symptoms of Main button

Again these are common problems associated with this model, all of which are fixable with the right guide and make-shift parts. Plenty of guides can be found on youtube.com and mpc1k forums- I simply don’t have the time or interest in dealing with it.

Because the core system is still in perfect working order I believe someone might be able to get some use out of it or at least use its parts to fix another machine. The other buttons are all in good shape and the LCD screen is functioning properly with NO missing pixels.

-Shop worn but still well working pair of Audio Technica Studio Grade Headphones (ATH-M40fs)

“I received this brand new AKAI MPC 1000 as a gift less than a year ago. It has only been used for a few hours and I recently started to use pro logic. As the pictures show, the unit has no scratches on the screen, has two little nicks on the lower left side and lower right of the blue paint. It also has very light scratches on the bottom which cannot be seen when on the table. It comes with 16mb of standard ram. Also included is the 32mb bonus track card, and (2) seperate 2gb cards. One card is a SanSisk Ultra ll and the other card is a Lexar premium 80x. The unit also comes with the standard power cord.” Link

“The JJOS turns this into something so much more than the standard MPC. Since I got it I was sequencing all of my gear via the MPC instead of using Live or Logic. It’s really a whole different (better!) world than the AKAI OS. I’m including the Akai 32MB CF card that came with it from the previous owner, but I’m not sure if it has all the factory samples, etc because I’m the second owner. I am also including a 2GB card with some samples that I was using (mostly techno oriented drum sounds). It comes with an Australian IEC power cord and the factory USB cable and adapter.
