“for sale is my trusty akai mpc. this is the blue and red version, with the ram maxed out to 128mb and an internal 40gb hard drive and jjos installed. if you haven’t heard of it, the jjos is a much improved third party os for the mpc1k… it’s a big improvement over the stock os, but if you don’t like it you can easily revert to the original. it connects to computer via usb and uses standard wave files for easy sample transfer. there are currently a couple gb’s worth of sounds on the hard drive that i’m leaving on there for the new owner (from my own collection…tons and tons of drum sounds). the power cable and original manual are included. i am the second owner, but got years of use out of it with no issues. it is in great cosmetic shape except for a couple chips in the paint on the front panel. i’ve included a picture of this just so potential buyers are aware. otherwise it all looks good and is built like a tank. original manual and power cable are included.” Link

“Up for sale is an AKAI MPC 1000 with JJ OS v. 4.98, the 128 mb memory upgrade and 2 flash cards (512 MB and 2 GB). Also comes with power cord.

It is in great shape, but there is one small problem with it. PAD1 and PAD2 do not respond as well as the rest of the pads. You need to hit them a little harder to get the same effect that you would from other pads. I’m not sure what this means mechanically, but I bet it is a quick fix. New pads or new cork maybe?” Link
