I cant seem to get the Floppy to format at present so assume it does not work (probably just needs cleaning)

The super quiet internal hard drive is still loaded with all my sounds from the early 90′s and still sounds great

SCSI to use zip drives/cf readers/cd rom etc

I will also include about 10 Akai format CDrs to use with a CD drive

This is a classic piece of digital history and in wonderful condition. It has lived in a smoke free high end studio it’s whole life and never toured. As seen in the pics there isn’t any rack screw marks or rash on this unit. I have fully tested it and everything works perfectly. The HD version adds a hard drive. Paired with this unit is the Optical Media CDP-2A CD rom drive. Includes 170 floppy disks containing sounds from Akai, Prosonus and others. Also includes the Owners manual scsi cable and power cord. As with all of these units the LCD display is fading but easily replaced.” Link

Damaliger Neupreis (ohne Case) 11900 DM

Powers up, but plugged into a guitar amp, I can’t get it to play anything…it makes a high pitched whine, that’s all I can get out of it, maybe because there’s no floppy disc, I don’t know.

I read that these are prone to the backlit screen becoming unreadable, thas one’s definitely readable, maybe a little light, I don’t know what’s normal for these. I’m selling it as for parts/not working to be of the safe side, but for all I know it may actually work.

Serial number 50225-01029. Late 1980s? Made in Japan.

Good cosmetic condition, a few relatively minor scratches and dings, nothing major or ugly…about a7.3 on a scale of 10. Looks quite nice for being over twenty years old.

No cables included. Uses a standard computer type power cord.” Link

Previously owned by Carter USM!

Vintage sampler, in very good and fully working condition.

This is the HD model featuring an internal hard drive, and the operating system is V4.4.

Cosmetically it’s in good nick considering its age, obviously used, with the odd scuff, scratch and minor chip. Oh, and someone’s written “7″ on the Select/Prog button.
The display is clear, with some very light and minor surface scratches.

Back in 2002, Fruitbat from Carter USM auctioned this off, which the band had used on several tracks back in the early 90s. I was the lucky winning bidder of said item.

It’s a real industrial workhorse of a thing – the Akai S1000 range was pretty much industry standard for years, and are still used in many studio set-ups by several big names.

Well, with a heavy heart, the time has come to say goodbye to it.

If memory serves, on the internal hard drive there’s a ton of samples that the band used on 101 Damnations and 30 Something-era tracks.

It’s been well-stored and not exactly heavily used since buying it. When he was selling it, Fruitbat noted that the LCD display wasn’t the brightest, which is a common issue with these as they age. I’m pleased to say this hasn’t deteriorated since I got hold of it, it’s still pretty clear when the contrast is right up, but if it ever got to the stage of needing attention, ” Link
