Da ich von Samplern als Gitarrist keine Ahnung habe und
auch keine Anleitung noch Akai Samples habe, kann ich das gute Stück nicht
testen. Demnach erfolgt der Verkauf als defekt.

“I bought this from Jennifer Blakeman. She was the touring keyboard player for Billy Idol (google her) and this was the spare unit for the tour. You can still the “jenn” label on the rear of the unit. Anyhew, according to jennifer, it was not really used on tour and I used it for only a few sessions. It is in excellent condition and working order. Sorry but I’m not sure how to test every feature, but the disk loader is working and the screen is good. The set up disk is included as well as disks from the Billy Idol tour that were jennifers personal disks. There are also a bunch of disks from her s900 unit, and according to jenn will work with this unit as well. Anyhew there is a bonus of sounds, the start up disk, and the manual included as well…” Link

The unit powers up but is unresponsive, i do not know the problem but i guess that it might be memory related as it just does not load.
Also the floppy drive does not respond upon start up. Again, this unit is faulty, sold as seen , unfortunately no returns on this.” Link

“Here we the highly sought after Akai S1100 Rack Sampler + a very rare s1100 ex expander.
upgraded, 20 meg in total!
For those that are unaware the s1100ex unit basically is another sampler but controlled by the main unit, I used to use it for drums and use the extra 10 outputs in the mixing desk so each were eq’d seperately. The combination gave me 20 outputs total
I used to have a professional studio but I am no longer in the music industry, these units have not been used for 3 years but tested and working fine. You will need a scsi cable to link these 2 up, this will cost a couple of pounds only
This unit sounds fantastic even by todays standards and I believe these are still used by professionals worldwide. At the time they were industry standard and the best money could buy at about £4500 the pair!
The main unit has 2x 8meg boards in and the ex unit has 2x 2meg boards in. You could swap this round and have 10 meg in each unit or 18meg in one and 2 in another. 2 meg was enough for me in the expander unit as I just used it for my drums. ” Link

Der Sampler bietet zusätzlich einen eingebauten digitalen Effektprozessor mit sieben Effekt-Typen (Reverb, Chorus/Flanger, Pitch Shifter und Delay), sowie einen SMPTE-Timecode Reader/Generator mit Cue-Listen-Programmierung. Zudem wurde beim S1100 der Dynamikumfang erhöht, der Rauschabstand verbessert und er hat bereits ab Werk den SCSI-Port, um die Daten auf/von einer Harddisk oder einem CDROM- bzw. MOD Laufwerk zu speichern bzw. davon zu laden. Außerdem ist der AES/EBU Digital I/O ebenfalls mit an Bord, die perfekte Voraussetzung für den Einsatz des S1100 in der audiovisuellen Postproduktion. Der Sampler ist sehr gepflegt (nur Studio Einsatz) und funktioniert einwandfrei. Zur technischen Daten brauche ich wohl nichts mehr zu sagen, die Kenner wissen was das für ein tolles Gerät ist, ansonsten hilft Google sicher weiter.
