” Up for sale is this Akai s2800 sampler. This item is in good condition cosmetically with incidental scratches, etc. It is basically a trimmed down version of the s3000. I replaced the backlight on this item which was the only thing that was wrong with it. Get a nice sampler for a great price. The S series Akai samplers are among the greatest of all time. This can be fitted with a SCSI port. ” Link

“You are bidding on a AKAI S2800, which is the actually MPC 3000 sound engine that is legendary. I tried every AKAI MPC and the 3000 sound engine is deffinately the best sounding like every said. It is amazing on drums. I literally run the same drums through every instance of a MPC and through different software plug ins. The 3000 sound engine kills them all for drums and samples. Im getting rid of all my hardware because I need the money.

This S2800 has the maximum memory and a SCSI Card. Something very unique about the S2800 vs a MPC 3000 is that the S2800 has a waveform view to edit sample, while the 3000 is just numeric position values.” Link

One more project item that didn’t get used, to be honest I couldn’t spend much time with it.

Display works ok as does everything else and I did have a Syquest EZ drive and some discs with it, if I can find them it will be included in the sale, I also have the boot disc for it, which will come with it and anything else I find eg cables and 3.5 sample discs.” Link

“Up for bid is an Akai EXM 3008 memory expansion board for the 3000 series, I got this from a music store that 10 or so years ago used to sell many different keyboards & other stuff. At some point in time they stopped carrying those keyboards & the extra small stuff left over went into a box and was forgotten about. The box was found during a move filled with all kinds of cool old school Cartridges, cards, and floppys for Roland, Ensonic, korg,Yamaha, & Akai. After I bought the box I soon realized I wasn’t going to have the time to buy the keyboards & do anything with any of this stuff so I will be listing many of these items. The manual is in a sealed package which contains a screw. The board is wrapped tight in packaging, I didn’t take it out of its wrapper. This item looks to be in new condition, it was in the box with a lot of stuff that was new and still had price tags on them. ” Link

Separately these cards are quite valuable so this a great opportunity to get a top of the line loaded S2800. The backlight is somewhat weak but still usable when turned to maximum contrast.
