“AKAI MPC1000 Sampler Sequencer.
It has had pads upgraded (instead of separate pads, all the pads are part of one piece.)
RAM has been increased to the max 128MB.
Currently has the free JJOS installed.
A few things to be aware of before buying as this didn’t work that great when I got it so I spent a bit fixing it (through Jazzcat’s):
– One of the clips that holds the RAM in place was slightly bent so the best way to resolve this was to superglue in place. Doesn’t affect use, unless you wanted to downgrade the memory for some reason.
– The CF holder has been fixed/modded as there was a bit missing. Still works fine, just doesn’t push out much when you eject. Easy to pull the card out though.
– It has had a new side panel and plastic switches as a lot were broken.
– Tact switches and encoder have been replaced. This is a big plus as they are normally the first components on these to fail.
– There is Velcro on the bottom, used to hold in place on a board that I never got to actually use live.
– The screen seems a bit dim depending on the angle. This may be common as I’ve seen plenty screen upgrades you can get. Something to be aware of.” Click here to search for MPCs on eBay
