I popped the covers off to confirm it has the original stock pads and no changes were made. Not a smudge or fingerprint to be found on it. Looks like it might have come from a government seizure or something because it had a seal on the box flap, not sure. It still has the original purchase receipts. I fired it up and installed the current Akai OS and checked all the pads, knobs, and sliders for functionality, all good. I know this will need some upgrades to get the full potential out of it and it is certainly a worthy candidate for a full mod.
