“This listing is for an Akai MPC 2000XL MIDI production centre and drum computer.
Dating from the year 2000, I am the second owner of this highly regarded sampler. I bought this unit from a friend of the family who purchased it new and used it occasionally. Likewise, I am now selling as I don’t get time to use it to its full potential.
As a result of its minimal use, this particular MPC is in excellent condition both physically and electronically.
This sampler has only been used in home surroundings, and not out on the road. There are no signs of damage, bar a small cosmetic mark on the front of the casing (see listing photos). Also, due to the sampler’s age (manufactured in 2000), there is a slight hint of yellowing on some buttons.
The MPC 2000XL powers up with no problem at all, and its original floppy drive runs its start up sequence as it should do.
All pads, sliders and buttons respond as expected, with an almost new feel to them.
The original display also has no dead pixels or contrast issues, which are normally common issues on these Akai samplers.
I also understand that this sampler and sequencer benefits from the upgraded memory board, but please view the pic of the memory spec on the MPC’s display to determine if this is correct before bidding.
Complete with its original box, inner packaging, owner’s manual and a SCSI drive lead, this could be the nearest thing to a new Akai MPC 2000XL currently on the market.”
