” This is an AKAI MPC 4000 which i’ve used over the years. The Machine is LOADED with sounds. There is 2 thin lines going through the monitor, which i’ve heard is a quick fix. The machine works very well. Did a custom faceplate that was painted a dark purple. It’s nice but i would recommend getting an original face plate if you want the exact look and titles. As Is. The unit works Perfectly. All midi and sound ports work perfectly. I added the max memory and had the hard drive upgraded years back from the mpc shop in pasadena, which is very well known. Custom blue lights light up the board instead of the traditional green. Although the machine has those two lines going through the monitor, it never effected my work flow, i just never took the time to go into the machine and try to clean the cable, etc. I’ve invested thousands of dollars of time and money into loading her with a lot of drum kits over a good 5 year time span. And you’re getting it FREE in this AKAI Classic. Out of 5 pieces of AKAI sequencers i’ve had over the years, this is by far my favorite,the smooth warm sound is still incredible and my board is running all sounds at high 48khz quality, and almost all sounds loaded are high quality wav files, A Personal collection purchasing different drum kits all over the web. This is my reasoning for the price. Put a hundred or 2 into the monitor, and now you have an awesome mpc loaded with sounds at a fraction of a typical auction. Just plug and play ready to go. Controls with pro tools and other midi based software great. ”
