Needs a new LCD — these can be gotten easily from used S1000 or S3000XL samplers.
“If you’re reading this you likely know exactly what we have here… a used, and well-maintained but ultimately broken MPC-60, the original 12 bit sampling drum machine. Here’s what works and doesn’t work that we know of:
NOT WORKING:The LCD Screen The screen was smashed when a user installed a back light and screwed the panel back in. I’ve been asked if you can program a beat on this… as the screen is not fully readable it was hard to see the functions it should record a sequence, when traded in, it did play a song with samples but You would need to get it fixed to do this.When we pressed record and play you can hear the click track. Great unit to have but we are making room for our Holiday gear.
WORKING: Although this is an older unit, the Disk Drive,Pads, all buttons and selectors, audio jacks… pretty much everything else besides the screen you see works. Was taken in on trade based on the historic nature of this machine.” Link
