” This auction is for a used Akai MPC60 II Roger Linn being sold As-is. Although it retains some main functionality, it has several issues with it including the following:
-floppy doesn’t work
-backlight on screen is out
– #5 button on the number pad sometimes you
have to press extra times, same thing with play/record/record-stop
buttons, most of the time those seemed to work fine, but sometimes you have to press them multiple times
– the pads can’t guarantee they work like a new mpc, same type of thing
responsiveness, some pads seem fine, one or two seem to double hit
sometimes, they respond about as expected when you hold them down at
different pressure, and they do respond when hitting at different
velocity but not like new,
– volume knob or headphone jack is scratchy idk which one but you hear static while adjusting,
– sampling loudness switch on the back you have to basically wiggle it
for the middle level so that the input comes in correctly, low and
high pretty sure were fine but the middle would still sound like it
was on low so you’d have to move it a little til it found its spot
– data control knob will sink in you have to pull it out and twist
at the same time for it to work
– generally physically its off white, got lots of dirt in various spots even a little rust on the
bottom by where the play/stop etc buttons are
– no issues that i know of with the outputs, used them several times but still no guarantees, as-is
– midi was fine,
– recording in, mapping sounds out by velocity and pitch, editing by
step and general sequencing functions worked fine as far I used it
