This is my treasured Akai S950 which I have had from new. I bought it for my home studio set up which was hardly used as my commercial work was done at a different studio and I never found that I needed to work from home as much as I thought.
Hence it’s had minimum use and I mean minimum,must be less than 100 hours. I have shown close up photos around the control knobs to prove there are no visible signs of wear or use at all.
There are two what look like pen marks above the disc drive,but they have no effect on how it looks at all. There are a couple of slight marks on the edge due to it being mounted in a rack but this is not visible. It’s as if it came out of the box.
When I moved house my studio was packed away and it’s been in dry storage ever since.
This is a completely original vintage sampler with all of the original pieces and packaging. If your after one of these then genuinely you will not find a better example.
I am only selling it now as it seems crazy for it not to be used as it should be and I am funding another project so the money would come in handy.
Akai sent me the whole of their sample library on disc which is included and has classic sounds such as the TR808 and loss of strings, choirs etc to get you started.
The display is like new and I have photographed the green back light to show it works. The text is not visible in that image as the camera sensor would not pick it up but the text is dark and clear as new.
